Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 148) - Raging Throners with the Night Kween

Happy Summer of Guests and Father’s Day!

It seems weird to be posting an episode all about a male-centric show with problematic portrayals of women on a day where we celebrate our male progenitors but alas, that’s how the schedule worked. Hopefully all the Fuzzballs listening have a great day. Like Game of Thrones, Fathers aren’t perfect (present company included) but ultimately they’re worth it and I think that’s a good analogy for a discussion about this eight season show which dominated geek conversation and culture for many years. I was joined by the original shadow guest revealed here as the Night Kween. Fun fact, this was recorded before she joined Blue and I for the Galaxy’s Edge bonusode. Anyhoo… this is the two of us talking all about Game of Thrones (including a review of the final season) and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did recording it.

Congrats on completing Level 148 of the podcast and a special thanks to the Night Kween (@caitalie) for joining me. Feel free to drop a comment here or contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot). I'd love to hear from you. Laugh It Up Fuzzball Bonusode #15 - Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Review

I know what your thinking… an episode up on a Tuesday? Well yes friend. I couldn’t get a sneak peak of Star War Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and not share it with all the amazing listeners who stick with this silliness week after week and not share. Even better, the Summer of Guests continues since Blue and his other half also got previews. This episode is all about the new 14 acre expansion to Disney’s Anaheim theme park which transports guests into a galaxy far, far away. The area first described as Star Wars Land is incredible and we talk for over an hour all about it. Enjoy!

Congrats on completing another bonusode of the podcast and as always I have to thank Blue (@bluewolfd) and the Night Kween (@caitalie) for joining me. Feel free to drop a comment here or contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot). I'd love to hear from you. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 146) - Don't Be a Phantom Menace to Siths in Hoods

20 years ago and some change (i.e. May 19, 1999) a little movie came out bringing the world more Star Wars. I was a much younger Wookiee but I remember the experience very well. With two decades of life going down since that fateful day, I figured it only appropriate for a podcast about geeky stuff which uses a famous line from the franchise to take a deep look at this movie. Sort of like a CBM Defenders for a non-comic book movie. Blue joined me for this look back at the movie and our different experiences are interesting. Without further ado though, here you go. A retrospective rewind of Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

Congrats on completing Level 146 of the podcast and a big thanks to Blue (@bluewolfd) for yet another amazing recording. If you like this look at just one movie let me know, I’m sure I could figure out ore to do. Feel free to drop a comment here or contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot). Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 145) - My Marvelous Spreadsheet Friends

THE SUMMER OF GUESTS!!! The Summer….

So it’s summer and with no obligations to school, hopefully these next few months will be full of my geeky friends talking about all manner of things. On this level of the cast, I was joined by my friends Ryan and Trena. Admittedly, Ryan had been chomping at the bit to talk all about him and his better half’s rankings of all 22 MCU movies. Wowza did they surprise me with an organizational chart of research. You know how I love research. Anyhoo… this is an in-depth look at the MCU. Spreadsheets and standings and geeks… oh my. What followed was two hours of rankings and fun all about the MCU. Since this phase of the MCU is nearly over… it seemed fitting to indulge a great duo. We rank the MCU along the lines of Stan Lee cameos, the movies themselves, heroes, and villains. One thing’s for certain… this geeky couple came prepared and the fact that we kept our chat to two hours is a miracle. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did recording it.

Congrats on completing Level 145 of the podcast and a big thanks to Trena and Ryan for one heck of a statistically geeky episode about 22 MCU movies. Also check out their own show, Carry-on Couple Podcast, wherever you find the good listening for your ears or hit them up on Instagram (@buzzlightbeard8 or @katrenalove). Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 144) - We're in the Endgame now

Woo to the hoo! Grad school is over and bring on summer! To start it all off, I promised Danny I’d finally let him come on and spoil the heck out of Avengers Endgame. As of this writing, the movie has made 2.542 billion dollars so I think it’s fair to say all the listeners of this podcast should have seen it. If not though, skip skip skip because we spoil the heck out of this movie. Not much left to say but enjoy two buds talking geek about a really good movie.

Congrats on completing Level 144 of the podcast and a big thanks to Danny for yet another amazing recording. I missed that dude while we were crazy busy with school. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 142) - May the 4th, Chewie, and CBM Defenders!

Hey hey friends… Happy May the 4th!

Had to throw up an episode on this most galactic of celebratory days. Also had to pay my respects to this pop culture iconography that I love especially the Mighty Chewbacca… rest in power sweet gentle giant. Sadness over Mr. Peter Mayhew aside, I also just ramble about stuff and included 30 plus minutes of a bonus CBM Defenders episode all in the service of getting an episode up but also finishing up this semester of grad school Here’s what you can find on this episode:

Endgame spoiler hiatus ends on Monday
Some random thoughts
Rest in Power Peter Mayhew
Star Wars remembrances
A bonus CBM Defenders defense of Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (1998)

Congrats on completing Level 142 of the podcast and a big thanks to Danny the Deuce for the bulk of this episode. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 139) - CBM Defenders... a Double Feature of Punishment

The continuing misadventures of Wookiee balancing grad school and a free podcast continue but don’t lose faith dear listeners. Another week and we prevail. Despite the constraint of the time space continuum, I am lucky to have pals to save my bacon and provide content for the busy weeks. This time, Danny came through and the result is his introduction to the CBM Defenders. Welcome to another edition of the Fuzzballs defending “bad” comic book movies. This time we tackled movies that Danny called dibs on. Also as a bonus, we actually had recently watched one. Danny and I attempt to defend the Dolph Lundgren and Thomas Jane versions of an iconic antihero. That’s right… two movies about The Punisher. Fair warning… we spoil the heck out of these flicks that are often discussed as some of the worst comic book movies EVER.. You may find these films to be less than good but we’re always prepared to shine our bright lanterny light all over them while talking the good, the bad, and the ugly. Here’s the two films we defend:

The Punisher (1989)
The Punisher (2004)

Congrats on completing Level 139 of the podcast and a big thanks to Danny the Deuce for yet another fun episode. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 136) - CBM Defenders vs. Schumacher's Batbutts

Holy geeky podcast Batman!

By now fans of the cast know Blue saves my bacon pretty often especially during this semester of grad school. This banked episode is another edition of the CBM Defenders and it is always nice to defend “bad” comic book movies. For this edition, we had to talk some Batman especially after the last Superman episode. This time we try to defend the Schumacher Batman films.

Batman Forever (1995)
Batman & Robin (1997)

Congrats on completing Level 136 of the podcast and a big thanks to Blue (@bluewolfd) for yet another fun episode. Please drop a comment here or contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot). I'd love to hear from you. Also subscribe to the feed on Apple Podcasts, GooglePlay, Stitcher, tunein.com, PlayerFM or Podcast Addict (or whatever app you use) if you're not already doing so. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 133) - CBM Defenders... Battle of the Supermen

Well… there’s times you think you have plenty of time to record a new episode and then it’s Monday and you’re no closer because of schoolwork. Thankfully, I had an episode saved just in case even if I hadn’t planned on using it so soon. Grad school is a time suck… the end. This banked episode is another edition of the CBM Defenders and it is always nice to defend “bad” comic book movies. For this edition, Blue and I were joined by our friend Justin to defend two Superman movies. It’s sort of our version of a Battle of the Supermen even if it is more like us loving on movies some think are bad. We chatted all about (and also spoil the heck out of) these flicks. You may find these films to be less than good but we’re always prepared to shine our bright lanterny light all over them while talking the good, the bad, and the ugly. Here’s the two films we defend:

Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987)
Superman Returns (2006)

Congrats on completing Level 133 of the podcast and a big thanks to Blue (@bluewolfd) and Justin (@jrgray01) for yet another fun episode. This one really felt like a CBM defense. Please drop a comment here or contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot). I'd love to hear from you. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 132) - After 150 shows… Humanity is Effed

Hey hey friends! So after my rambling last episode, I realized this week was technically the 150th recording put out for y’all. In a fortuitous way, I’d already planned on recording with Danny the Deuce and then it got even better when Blue Lightning said he could join and dragged Justin and a Shadow Guest to the podcast studio with him. With our dongs out, we geeked out for almost two hours to commemorate the show, friendship, and the geeky culture we love to be a part of. Lots of discussion and laughter and robot pneumatics. Let me tell ya… 150 listens will give you such a crick in the neck. Hope you enjoy this hilarity as much as we did first hand. Here’s a rough guide of what we covered in this level of the cast:

Aladdin
Alita Battle Angel

The Rising of Shield Hero
The Orville

Wowza… that list seems short for the duration of the episode but somehow the four of us did it anyway. So much fun. Congrats on completing Level 132 of the podcast and a big thanks to Blue (@bluewolfd), Justin (@jrgray01), and Danny for another amazing recording.
