Laugh It Up Fuzzball #101 - Welcome to the Palindrome!

Welly well well...

It's SDCC 2018 weekend but I didn't want that to be a reason not to get a new episode up. Here's a solo episode with lots of me rambling about life, the universe, and everything but especially geek stuff. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 100) - Big Hairy American Winning Machines

Wowza... the podcast has made into triple digits! I thought about doing all sorts of different things to commemorate the milestone but realized this show is still what it's always been, fuzzy geeks waxing about life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. My great friend Blue kept the whole summer of guests going by stopping by for a hangout which included us recording for an hour about whatever we wanted. Topics covered included a Moon Knight TV Show, the Solo box office success in retrospect, an RIP talk for Steve Ditko, Spider-Man, Florida theme parks, excitement about San Diego Comic Con, superheroes in church, Legendary pictures doing a Gundham movie, Billie Dee Williams in Episode 9, even more SDCC talk, the Skyward comic from Image comics movie, and then some TV talk. Just an hour of geek talk between friends marking this show for what it is. A geeky podcast for geeks of all types about whatever comes up. Here’s to one hundred more!

Congrats on completing Level 100 of the podcast and a big thanks to Blue (@bluewolfd) for joining me for another episode. It was a lot of fun as usual. Laugh It Up Fuzzball Bonusode #12 - The Raasclaat Jurassic West World Hour

Hey hey friends!

It's been a while since we had a bonusode of the podcast but here we are. The summer of guest keeps on keeping on and courtesy of Danny and I recording for two and a half hours, we got not only a new episode which drops next week but this hour of nerddom. If you wondered about some recent geek entertainment i.e. Luke Cage Season 2, Westworld Season 2, and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, here are Danny and my thought on those gems. Sort of a spoiler but we thought they all were on the upper spectrum of quality and talked for an hour about each one. There are also some spoilers for each  so skip if you haven't seen them. Hope you enjoy this as much as we did recording it.

Congrats on completing another bonusode of the podcast and a big thanks to Coco Notorious aka Danny for helping me get an episode up. Feel free to drop a comment here or contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot). I'd love to hear from you. Also subscribe to the feed on Apple Podcasts, GooglePlay, Stitcher, tunein.com, PlayerFM or Podcast Addict (or whatever app you use) if you're not already doing so. Better yet, rate the episode. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 98) - A Fuzzy Top 10... Take That MCU!

Wowza... another Tuesday episode and two in a row marking the Summer of Guests? Once again... all credit goes to Danny and Blue. This is the second episode we recorded in one day. With twenty plus MCU movies out and the indomitable Infinity War making all the money, I figured it was time we ranked our personal Top 10s for posterity. It was a fun time and turned into over two hours of discussion re: a ton of movies. I'll list our order from Me to Blue to Danny... but trust me... this one is worth listening to.

Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 97) - E3 plus TV!

Hey hey fuzzballs!

Wowza... an episode on a Tuesday. Could the summer of guests be back? I don't know but all credit for a Tuesday drop of the podcast goes to Danny and Blue who returned yet again to record episodes (yes episodes) with me last week. The surest way for me to get a level up early in the week is friends coming over although that didn't work quite right for last week's episode. This level, possibly a part one depending on if I watch a bunch of TV on my off days, was basically a warm up for the next one. We discuss a bunch of the game announcements from E3 and then Danny felt the need to discuss a bunch of TV he's been watching including Into the Badlands, Lost in Space, Black Mirror, The Toys That Made Us, Stranger Things 2, Westworld, and Cloak & Dagger.

Congrats on completing Level 97 of the podcast and a big thanks to Blue (@bluewolfd) and Danny for joining me for another episode. It was a lot of fun as usual. Feel free to drop a comment here or contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot). I'd love to hear from you. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 94) – Autumn Talks Geek Movies

Hey hey friends!

SPOILERS abound in this episode my friends. My good friend and super snarky critic towards Marvel, Star Wars, etc. aka Autumn came over to record her fresh take on lots of geek stuff but especially Avengers: Infinity War, Deadpool 2, and Solo: A Star Wars Story. We talk openly about all the SPOILERS which should be avoided by any listeners who haven't caught these movies. I had planned on a normal episode but turns out, a geek conversation with a friend took it's place but keep an eye out for a comic-filled bonusode later this week. Sorry for the delay with a Saturday release but life always finds a way to derail my best laid plans. Here's a short list of some topics of discussion:

18:34 - General discussion of Marvel incl. Infinity War SPOILERS
27:32 - Deadpool 2 SPOILERS including Pacific Rim
30:31 - Arvin joins the geekery and we discuss Toto among other hilariousness

There's lots more in this too but that's the gist of everything. Congrats on completing Level 94 of the podcast and a big thanks to Autumn & Arvin (@skippertabs) for joining me for some fun SPOILER conversation. It was a lot of fun as usual. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 91) - Happy (She Gave Me) Life Day!!!

Hey hey friends… so Mother’s Day is this weekend and all of us have someone who brought us into the world. In honor of that day, this week’s episode is all about my mom. I sat down for an hour with her and recorded all about her geekdom. Yes, this giant fuzzy geek has a Wookieemama who geeks out about stuff too. We talked about all manner of things in a completely unstructured conversation but here’s some of what we talked about:

Disney geekery including the Disney cruises to blowholes
Star Wars movies when they came out
Glimpses into my childhood
Gone With the Wind
Cabbage Patches of color and Fred
San Diego (now Los Angeles) Chargers
Disneyland (the 1960s, annual passes, favorite rides, Mad T Party band, and Fantasmic!)
Star Wars Celebration plus Chewie cosplay talk
Doctor Who fandom and the Gallifrey One Convention
Conventions & geek concerts we’ve gone to together like Simpsons Take the Bowl
The Simpsons Tapped Out & when my mom didn’t like The Simpsons
Stan Lee & Marvel Movies
Harry Potter nerdom incl. the books and the Universal experience
Fantasy books (Anne McCaffrey/David Eddings/Mercedes Lackey/Dragonlance)
My mom starting my comic book journey
My mom loves Tony Stark
Rambling about future geek stuff she’s looking forward to… mostly at the Disneyland Resort and a few movies
More Disney talk regarding Marvel in the parks
Captain EO, steam trains, Dapper Dans, Disney World, and much more.

It was a really fun conversation and I couldn’t think of a better way to show the Wookieemama how much I love her than dedicating an episode just to her. I’m the geek that I am because of her. I’m so thankful for the chance to record with her and yes, my impressions of her are way off. Hopefully you enjoyed this and don’t forget to thank your own Mamas for putting up with you.

Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 89) - The Four Horsemen of the Geekpocalypse

Well hey there friends and listeners!

Here is this week's official level of the podcast. I tided you over with a hilarious bonusode but wanted to make sure I got some geek news out to you like I promised. I got lucky and was able to hang out with my geeky friends and record a whole slew of geek news conversation with Blue, Justin, and Darth John. We had a blast discussing a variety of topics. I didn't want to bore them while they sat silently and listened to my reviews of geek TV and comics so look for that in the next level. Even without that, this is a good time! Here's what we discussed for over an hour:

Trailers: Venom / Deadpool 2 / Incredibles 2 / Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Thoughts on Universal Studios Hollywood
Being laughed at while rocking my geek life
Fantasy sports is really just D&D
Facebook geek memories
Gundham Wing: Endless Waltz
Marvel will not have a Hall H presence

The Hawkeye Initiative

Rumor from That Hashtag Show re: Mara Jade in Star Wars: Episode 9

Lawrence and Jon Kasdan interview on the Star Wars Show
Brady Bunch Marvel video
With Infinity War’s Friday opening, it's already setting records

Fun, fun, fun! As a bonus, the episode ends with a short non-spoiler review of Avengers: Infinity War from Blue and I. We recorded right after seeing it on Thursday. I think we succeeded at not spoiling anything but if you want to avoid our feelings before seeing the movie, I'll understand if you skip it.

Congrats on completing Level 89 of the podcast and a big thanks to Blue (@bluewolfd), Justin (@jrgray01), and Darth John for helping me get an episode up as I promised. It was a lot of fun as usual and I enjoyed listening to it. Feel free to drop a comment here or contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot). I'd love to hear from you. Laugh It Up Fuzzball Bonusode #11 - Go Fuzzballs Go!

Woo! Tuesday and there's an episode going up. Yes, it's a bonusode but I've been threatening one for two weeks and recorded one hell of a great conversation with Coco Incognito aka Coco Notorious aka Danny last week. Seeing as I could use a little time to do this week's episode, homework, and also wanting to see Avengers: Infinity War before recording, I figured this gem would serve to tide over all the listeners. It is always a ton of fun to hang with my friends and as usual, we talked about a smorgasbord of geekery. It's nice to have digital evidence of the good times we had. Here's my attempt at show notes for one roller coaster of a geek out on the way to Game 4 of the Kings versus the Knights. We may not have won the playoffs but this conversation is definitely a winner.

Hockey geeking out
Rambling about stupid racists
The Nightmare Mandingo mustache & Dum Dum Dugan
California freeways & the Arizona princess rescue car accident
Racism on the E.T. ride at Universal
Adam West impressions
Thoughts on Agents of Shield, Gotham, and Krypton
The Han Solo movie and Denny’s
Coco Notorious’ angry Walking Dead thoughts (potential spoilers 30:24 to 37:12)
The super secret never to be released bonusode (and later how I might be persuaded to release it)
Words are hard for geeks
R. Lee Ermey
The purposeful silly storytelling of Legends of Tomorrow and Danny’s crush on Jonah Hex
Frank & Sons, x-rated collectibles, the Snoke action figure, and hot toys
More Dum Dum Dugan
Comics we’d like to read
The superpowers of privilege and homelessness
The Pied Piper (btw… he was a good guy in Forever Evil Rogues, not what I said)
The Infinity War brackets on Facebook
And Danny remembers what he forgot right at the end

Congrats on completing another bonusode of the podcast and a big thanks to Coco Notorious for helping me get an episode up. It was a lot of fun as usual and I enjoyed listening to it. Feel free to drop a comment here or contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot). I'd love to hear from you. What the what? Wookiee managed to get another episode up by Tuesday. What a world. For real though... you can thank Blue for stopping by to hang out with me and being willing to record about whatever random geek topics my buzzed self came up with. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 85) - Shaun and I Talked Movies

A Fuzzball Tribute Episode.

Shaun Memorial Cruise.jpg

I know every one who listens isn't my BFF but recently a great big hole was ripped in the geek world by the passing of my friend Shaun. He was always so supportive of my podcasting endeavors and if I'm honest is one of the reasons I even started doing one. He put me on one f his episodes sparking an interest (shoutout to Kevin for this too!). He helped me set this thing up step by step, he listened and critiqued, he even deigned to record with me. To pay tribute to someone gone too far too effing soon, I decided to post both of his episodes together in the longest Laugh It Up Fuzzball episode yet. Shaun always complimented my consistency (a running joke between us) but this week is not one for happy geek talk. Instead... enjoy the comedic talk between two friends and enjoy the wit of the best podcaster I'll ever have the privilege to know. Another week down for you bub and I promise there will be a new one next week. Rest in peace friend. Thanks for talking geek movies with me. All my love and save me a seat in that big podcast studio in the sky.

Thank you to everyone who decided to listen to this level of the podcast. Thank you for indulging me as I missed a friend. You can find more of his amazingness at http://www.shauntalksmovies.com. He will be missed but some of us lucky ones have a slice of his life for perpetuity. Credit to Richard Wallace for letting me use this image. I don't often talk work but once a skip, always a skip. Laugh It Up Fuzzballs (Ep. 84) - Giant Size CBM Defenders vs. 3 X-Men

Woo! A Tuesday episode courtesy of Blue (@bluewolfd) and Justin (@jrgray01) stopping by to hang out on the weekend to give me a break from studying. I certainly missed having guest episodes and this was just the thing. Bonus... this turned out to be a hilarious, fun-filled edition of The Comic Book Movie Defenders as we go over not one, not two, but three X-Men movies that some find less than awesome:

X-Men: The Last Stand aka X3 (2006)
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

Who'd have thought we'd get to ramble for over an hour plus add some musical hilarity into an episode that includes Justin's impressions of Shaq, King T'Challa, and Nic Cage.

Congrats on completing Level 84 of the podcast and a big thanks to Blue (@bluewolfd) and Justin (@jrgray01) for a lot of fun. Feel free to drop a comment here or contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot). I'd love to hear from you.
